I at least had fun, but I think we’re maybe beyind the point of providing queer commentary solely through aesthetics. It leaves the whole product feeling voyeuristic, shallow, or both. What maybe would’ve been an interesting story lost itself in the, more obviously, bad script. Not quite camp, but reaching toward it unintentionally. Zero winking. And while I love dogs, I could not willingly suspend my disbelief that they were effectively a gang. It was giving Oliver & Company. The brother was the most gay-coded in the end.
