Scorsese earns more minutes of the running time here than in The Irishman. Lily Gladstone needs an Academy Award immediately for her performance. A deeply moving history and sometimes visual feast, I imagine this will be best to watch in theatres if possible. One of the best parts of the film is how it manages storytelling across timelines, showcasing how generations of abuse have built generations of wealth for the undeserving. In the end, it succeeds in giving voice to the Osage while honoring the truth of a history that would otherwise erase their narrative.
