Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton put in work! That aside, a great film that loses its edge, in large part, due to Seth Rogen’s insistence on playing characters for whom the idea of queerness is so repulsive that it becomes a punchline. It’s one thing for the character to be uncomfortable in his sexuality—it’s another to observe this as Rogen’s typical register. McCormack and Jones strike again in the screenwriting. And I like this better than Olivia’s prior directing entries.
