It took so long to get going, and then really threw away the momentum it had built up. The ending felt so flattened. Honestly, a large part of this for me comes down to the lack of Kate Mara and Corey Stoll, even though the story hinges on their characters. They are not supporting actors and their misuse, in this regard, is clear.

The writing and acting styles are not meshing well together. Everything feels so overdone and melodramatic, but not in an intentionally styled way.
If you’re gonna drive a racialized narrative like this, I don’t know that you can get away with having your Black female lead listening to censored Doechii.

Corey Stoll really knows how to flip a switch. Frightening.
