I’m not saying we shouldn’t have emotionally earnest zombie movies. But I am saying that this entry hasn’t perfected the craft. We spend way too much time in a world lacking earnestness to enjoy what they get to. And then that energy becomes squandered with an ending that reads as an entry point into a more interesting film that was teased from this one’s prologue. Give me Jimmy and his Teletubby gang going bonkers for 2 hours! All love to Jodie Comer and Ralph Fiennes, though. And I guess ATJ was nice to look at, but what a shite character.
