Laugh out loud hilarious. It was a certain kind of delight to see this as a surprise screening with a bunch of white people, too scared to leave or laugh for fear of being perceived as racist. Ultimately, I’m on the fence about this as a Black person. Despite its own commentary and internal counterarguments to the main character’s thesis, I’m afraid it might miss the mark and still wind up being Black content for a white audience. I’m not sure what to think of this continued trend I’ve seen in media, and how much I believe my own argument, but I’m keeping an eye on it.
