Rachel Sennott and Ayo Edebiri are a match made in heaven. It feels like only they could lead the translation of a script from Emma Seligman and Sennott that is a perfect satire of teen movies that also earnestly delivers on the promise of the genre. For every line toed, several more were crossed and the payoffs were worth it. This is a clear early contender for comedy of the decade and certainly has the staying power to be a long-referenced entry in the genre like Mean Girls (and also like Jennifer’s Body?) before it.
