Proof that good films can be made with relatively low budgets and 90-minute runtimes. Proof that camp and emotional weight can co-exist in film. I’m surprised to be writing that this hit all the right notes: fun, flirty, sexy, criminal, Judith Light, and Audra McDonald. And, maybe even more surprisingly, Lukas Gage continues to prove he has the range. Not only is he one the writers, but he gives a complex performance and his chemistry with Zachary Quinto is enough to make me want to be their third.
