There was so much texture and care in every element of this film. I immediately felt like I was living in the world of the characters. Much of that has to do with it being history that is somewhat known to me, but I think there is a larger consideration for communicating feeling that is what is crying out for attention every second of this work. And that feeling is mostly those of a mother and wife, in that order. There’ll be a Reubens-sized hole in my heart for a bit.
