For all the stars this movie possesses, you’d barely know it because the film’s narrative is ultimately lost in itself, diminishing whatever strong performances that might’ve existed in the raw production — maybe too meta for its own good. As Nolan always is, visually stunning, but not enough to make one care about the world or its characters. Having watched Inception and Tenet before this, it would seem that Nolan treated the former and this film as a parts shop for the latter, taking the best elements of each to make a film better than its predecessors (Make no mistake, this is the weakest of the three.).
