It feels like this doesn’t hold up. As a first time viewer, I can see where Nolan has grown since this film in handling time-based narratives. It’s not to say it was bad, just that it’s not what the hype would have one believe. While interesting, I think the reverse chronological takes away from the film’s strength, rather than adding to it. The fact that the main character has a memory affliction is enough for the audience to work with that seeing the film in chronological order would’ve actually been more engaging.
