In truth, I thought this was going to be more psychological thriller than drama. That aside, I felt very emotional watching theatermaking being given a spotlight. I appreciate that the film wanted to tackle trauma and abuse and how it tracks through the industry, but I don’t know that it said anything revolutionary or particularly insightful. Seyfried continues to prove she is a tour de force somewhat cursed with mid projects.
