Having a confounding plot twist at the end of a movie doesn’t make it great, even if you’re A24. This one felt like their take on haunted Euphoria — they similarly couldn’t decide here if the story was meant to be ensemble-based or a three-hander with appropriate support or if really there was a single main character. Maybe this struggle was only present because the main character is a Black woman. I’d say “you be the judge,” but you should honestly just skip this one. Be the civilian.
