This was such a wild ride. I think the questions the film poses about the dual relationship between the privilege to becoming a parent and the responsibility of being one are interesting. Its handling of intersectionality is a bit sloppy, but it manages to at least effectively demonstrate the complexity. I wish it had taken more creative license with the script pacing; while the core setup dictates 7 days of “assessment,” it would’ve been more interesting to not see what feels like every moment of that 7 days. Minnie Driver’s character was the only one clocking tea.
