I am gobsmacked at how locked in this show is. They break away from the procedural model really quickly while establishing an ensemble cast, referencing other classic hospital shows, and carving out their own path. The most curious part for me is how conservative the shows aesthetics are; the content is so left-leaning that this feels contradictory, but I think that is probably because the show is really center left, more than anything else. Zachary Quinto is still so nice to look at.

I don’t know the last time I saw a solid network procedural just tank itself. The season pacing is probably what led to the cancellation because the first 75% should have been maybe the first 50%. Bellamy Young was wasted and half the characters were written to be wildly different from the first season. What a sad way to see a show go.

No shade — we don’t know these characters well enough for all this.

  • E12 · The RiderJan 15, 2026
  • E13 · The Rabbit HoleJan 27, 2026
  • E14 · The Invisible ManFeb 5, 2026
  • E15 · The Missing PersonMay 29, 2026

I’m leaning into the comedy of how this show was handled. I really think if they had gotten to this part of the narrative sooner we might have a forthcoming season.

We really needed to be here earlier in the season…

  • E17 · Doctor, InterruptedJun 12, 2026

Oh, so now they want to bring back the Nichols we knew? Keep him!

  • E18 · Through the Looking GlassJun 27, 2026

    I do love Ana Ortiz.

  • E19 · The Hero's JourneyJun 27, 2026

Dr. Nichols is going to piss off right until the end.

  • E20 · The Way HomeJul 2, 2026

A very chaotic season finale, let alone series finale. I can’t believe they didn’t edit this differently, knowing the show was cancelled.
