I feel like rarely we see a documentary comedy like this actually use the show to find its footing. In a way, it feels like we’ve only gotten a rough draft, and the final episode is maybe a tech rehearsal. Good omens for what Fielder goes on to do.

I love whatever is wrong with this man. He’s just like me for real.
Episode notes
I’m genuinely amazed this show was greenlit. But honestly it’s so perfectly 2013.
Nathan as an elf…why he kinda…
Not a politically incorrect usage of Indian in…checks notes…2013.
That last beat almost made me forget about the racism.
🥴🥴 (Also, on streaming this and episode 5 are swapped…)
Episode notes
Why did he give that picture?!
Not J*hnny D*pp…
Kind of an iconic idea to do maid service like that.
I hope you’re hungry for nothing in context. Wow.

The increasing prevalence of the single-focus episodes really works for me. It’s a shame to see this show feeling like it’s just finding its footing, knowing there’s only one season left.
Episode notes
He’s only getting into hotter water as this show goes on.
The wigs!
The last beat and Nathan breaking the plate…little devil.
Nathan Fielder, theatre director, is so compelling. I especially loved the “I love you” bit because it actually seemed to get a better performance out of the actor as much as it maybe healed Nathan himself. Bring back smoking indoors, I don’t care.
Not the orgy…
Sweet Brendan. Len needle drop was perfect.
Why was the prosthesis removal so moving?

A great wrap-up to the show and blooming of flowers from seeds planted from the beginning. I cannot wait to see the full sprawl I assume this causes in The Rehearsal, from what I’ve seen in The Curse.
Episode notes
Living for the escalation of investment to get these ideas off the ground.
The Kirsten Dunst and Kimmel involvement is sending me.
Maria Garcia is my new vocal stim.
Journey doesn’t even begin to cover it. Truly an astounding testament to the heart of the show, even if Bill is an imperfect protagonist that I don’t necessarily root for, in the end. Frances is a sweetie, obviously.
Episode notes
Great primer/refresher ahead of the final season.
