  Maybe I let this show be overhyped for me. The world building felt rushed, inconsistent, and also incomplete in a way that feels lazy more than intentional. I’m not intrigued as much as I’m irritated, but I will push through. Also, these people’s biggest issue is wanting to have a child? Please! Where are the gays of the silo?

  Naturally, there was always more than one silo. But that still does not explain why the suits are designed with visual distortion and the lie within the truth of it all. That’s gonna annoy me until it’s resolved, and right now it feels like that’s just throwaway lore—somehow I don’t think it’s meant to be addressed…but then again, you’d also have to wonder where the recent bodies are and if there’s something to do with that because the real visual is also distinct from the “lie” of the screen inside the silo…

  I don’t know if this was a good episode as much as fascinating. The performances inside the main silo are so overacted on the surface, but then somehow give way to the reality of the world? I’m just really struck by the Judge and Mayor narrative and the multitude of the Judge’s dispositions that Tanya Moodie conveys. That performance really created the space for Common’s performance to work. And then there’s Solo’s silo—I’m obsessed with the Metroid Prime vibes and whatever Steve Zahn is doing. Something in the lorecraft still feels forced to me, but I am locked in, so I guess it’s working.
