I’m always eager to see a somewhat formulaic show expand its world after an initial season. That said, I think some elements of the original formula need to exist in subsequent seasons, in order to maintain the throughline of a show’s narrative. I’m not certain that this season achieved a proper blend of new and old and suffered for it. The entirety of the last episode is so melodramatic that I thought it was a dream sequence for longer than I care to admit. I’m glad they’ll be wrapping this up with a third season that can hopefully make sense of the mess of this one.
