The whole show

Watched Aug 14, 2024

There’s something incredibly heartwarming and wholesome about this show. While it’s ostensibly a gay male dating reality show, it really seems much more about the various journeys gay men take to and through those relationships. At no point did I think any of these men were a match for another, but that’s also very life. The framing of the show is refreshing to American eyes, and simultaneously disconcerting. The reunion episode, in particular, seemed to betray the zone of comfort I prefer in reality television. The hosts seemed to just be fans of the show and there was no actual processing of the unresolved information from the main episodes. In fact, the interview style left a sour taste in my mouth. It felt voyeuristic in a way that I could ignore during the main episodes, but could not at the point of a more “real” episode. Ultimately, is representation for the majority gaze worth it? I don’t really think so. But I would probably watch another season, so what do I know? Justice for Taeheon!

Kind of obsessed with the 2-month format. I do feel like many of the couples needed to be mixed up, but what do I know? For example, Taeheon and Hiroya…missed connections.

I love this show so much. It is so wholesome and dramatic at the same time. Rooting for William, period.

Hiroya marked safe from Huwei, to be honest.

  • E7 · Love by a Misty LakeJan 20, 2026

I was crying for different reasons the entire time. And then they gagged it with Taeheon’s arrival to end the episode. Send help!

  • E8 · Once More for LoveJan 22, 2026

Huwei and Izaya are stressing me at this point.

  • E9 · Until the Flames Go OutJan 22, 2026

The music editing is its own character this season. That “talk” between Jobu and Taeheon was frightening.

  • E10 · The Day We Leave Youth BehindJan 28, 2026

More of my three sisters giggling on the couch, please!

  • E11 · Beyond GoodbyeJan 29, 2026

    Taeheon…what are we doing, babes?

  • E12 · Won't Back DownJan 29, 2026

    Huwei and Bomi forever.

  • E13 · Even if Our Bodies IntertwineFeb 7, 2026

Taeheon in a Wellness sweater. Jobu controlling it. This episode was made for me.

  • E14 · You Won't Sleep Next to MeFeb 8, 2026

Whiplash. I don’t like the fighting one bit.

  • E15 · Will You Be My First Boyfriend?Feb 8, 2026

A little stressful, a little sappy. Hiroya’s match is not on this show, but he is such a damn catch it’s not funny and that just needs to be said as this season closes.
