In the end, I was passed a fork so I could eat my words. The show starts slow and then rapidly advances to a place where I cannot and will not imagine my life without these characters. The storytelling is nimble and the performances are agile and grounded. I understand this is the reality (if not a calmer version) of what ERs see these days. That should frighten everyone. This show feels much like In Treatment to me, but a friend recently pointed out that it (and it’s so obvious I don’t know how I missed it) is also reminiscent of the structure of 24. We are so back!

Here’s the thing, there were a ton of outstanding episodes, but the season was ultimately choppy and lacked cohesion. I don’t recall feeling this way in season one, but it felt like there were too many loose ends from introduced cases (way more red herrings than Chekov’s guns). There’s a lot of built up tension between Robby and the entire staff, but no resolution or even effective release—everyone is just deflated and defeated. That’s, perhaps, too realistic to effectively portray in a single season. I suspect this season could age well with context of whatever comes next. In the end, Digby stole the show.

Episode notes

  • E1 · 7:00 A.M.Jan 9, 2026

Covert Thom Browne star of the show. The deaf patient setup is already stressing me.

  • E2 · 8:00 A.M.Jan 16, 2026
  • E3 · 9:00 A.M.Jan 23, 2026

That went down like water. The pace felt crisp and the script demonstrated that this team knows just what they’re doing. I cannot wait for the storm to pick up further.

  • E4 · 10:00 A.M.Jan 30, 2026

I feel like we lost the momentum of the prior episode a bit, but always happy to see a Whitaker win on my screen.

  • E5 · 11:00 A.M.Feb 6, 2026

    The AI of it all…

  • E6 · 12:00 P.M.Feb 13, 2026

That felt so rich and lived in. Princess lowkey my favorite right now.

  • E7 · 1:00 P.M.Feb 20, 2026

Great lead-up to what I’ve been waiting all season to get into. Dana stays goated.

  • E8 · 2:00 P.M.Feb 27, 2026

    Yea, Joy is that girl.

  • E9 · 3:00 P.M.Mar 6, 2026

3pm is generally a more hectic time than we ever acknowledge. A nice breath before the next movement in the season. Already obsessed with Dana Sr.

  • E10 · 4:00 P.M.Mar 13, 2026

All gas, no brakes. Everyone needs a cigarette, actually.

  • E11 · 5:00 P.M.Mar 20, 2026

Not bad, but mostly felt like setup for the final turn of the season. A lot of different people just need to get slapped.

  • E12 · 6:00 P.M.Mar 27, 2026

Not everyone clocking the existential dread.

  • E13 · 7:00 P.M.Apr 2, 2026

That last scene with Dana and Robby…now we’ve said it.

  • E14 · 8:00 P.M.Apr 9, 2026

Everyone getting along now, but I fear it’s too late.

  • E15 · 9:00 P.M.Apr 16, 2026

This felt like air slowly leaking from a balloon. That said, I love that the entire episode was different people whacking Robby. His relationship with the peds room is carrying a lot of weight not actually in the material. Justice for Mohan and Al-Hashimi!
